Fixing a sale and collecting what is owed
Changing a sale, voiding one, and taking a payment from a customer who owes you.
Changing a sale
Open the sale in Sales and choose Edit. When you save, the original is not erased. The change is saved as a new version of the sale, and the receipt code shows it is a newer version.
Voiding a sale
Void a sale that was a mistake or was cancelled. It is marked as voided, along with who voided it and why, and it is left out of your numbers. The record stays in Sales.
Taking a payment on a balance
When a customer owes money on a sale, open the sale and record the payment when they pay. You can record a part payment or the full amount. Each payment is saved with the date, who took it and how much. When nothing is left to pay, the sale is paid in full.
Notes
Use Add Note on a sale for anything your team should know. You can change a note later.
Who can do this
Changing and voiding sales needs the permission called "Edit / Void Sales". Owners always have it. You choose who else gets it.
