Making a sale

Ringing up a customer, taking payment, and what to do when they pay only part today.

Open New Sale. Add what the customer is buying from your catalog. Enter their name and phone number. Then choose pickup or delivery.

Taking payment

Choose how they are paying: cash, card, finance, or a mix of more than one. For a mix, type how much goes on each. If the customer pays only part today, enter the amount they still owe. It stays on the sale until they pay it.

Deliveries

For a delivery, enter the address and the delivery fee you charge the customer. You can also type in what you pay the driver. The fee you charge is part of the sale total. What you pay the driver is only for your records. It does not change your profit or your total in (see "How your numbers are calculated").

Signature and receipt

Before the customer leaves, get the sale signed (see "Signatures and receipts"). Then print the receipt or email it. The sale is saved in Sales as soon as you finish.

Entering an older sale

The date and time are filled in for you. If you are entering a sale from a day ago, change the Sale Date & Time box.

If you make a mistake

Open the sale in Sales and fix it, or void it. See "Fixing a sale and collecting what is owed".
